MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi! I’m Toni, founder of SLAM Society.

I moved to Australia as a teenager, and not long after, I found myself navigating a new country, adulthood, and life’s challenges all on my own - without a safety net.

Those early years were overwhelming and often lonely. But what I learned in that time has shaped everything since: the smallest act of support, the right person at the right time, can change the course of your entire life.

Years later, I moved to the Sutherland Shire with a newborn in my arms, and once again starting over. No family nearby. No local friends. Just a quiet ache for connection and a deep desire to be around women who got it - the juggle, the joy and the mess of it all.

What started as a simple search for connection soon sparked something much bigger.

Why SLAM Exists

From humble beginnings over coffee, a powerful movement slowly took shape, fueled by genuine connection and shared purpose.

In those early gathering, the energy was unmistakable - warm, real, and uplifting. It wasn’t just friendship forming. It was women exhaling. Showing up. Feeling seen. And it clicked: we all need more of this.

I realised this was more than just a local social meetup. It was a space women deeply needed, a place to grow, be themselves, and feel part of something bigger.

And from that need, SLAM Society, Shire Ladies and Mamas, came to life.

What began as a small Facebook group has evolved into a thriving community supporting over 3,000 women through events, retreats, business promotion, and authentic connection.

It’s more than feel-good - it’s real, grounded, and intentionally designed to make a difference.
