Three Years Strong: Celebrating Our SLAM Community at Croydon Lane

There’s something incredibly special about marking a milestone with the people who matter most - and last week at Croydon Lane, we came together to toast three amazing years of the SLAM community in true SLAM style.

Our ladies gathered simply to celebrate - to laugh, connect, and reflect on how far we’ve come over three beautiful years of friendship and community.

The Perfect Setting

Croydon Lane was the perfect backdrop for our soirée, tucked away like a hidden gem in the heart of Cronulla. Its warm, welcoming vibe set the scene for an afternoon full of connection and celebration. The lighting was soft, the music just right, and the space buzzed with that unmistakable energy that only happens when the right people come together.

From the moment our ladies arrived, the atmosphere was alive - a mix of excitement, warmth, and that instant ease when you're surrounded by like-minded women.

A Celebration of Friendship

At its core, the evening was all about connection. Sharing laughs, toasting our journey, and celebrating the friendships that have grown over three years of SLAM.

Women who once arrived as strangers were now exchanging hugs, sharing inside jokes, and reminiscing about past events. Newcomers were welcomed with open arms, and by the end of the night, many were already planning their next catch-up.

Even more magical was watching some ladies experience SLAM for the first time and leave with what felt like the start of lifelong friendships. That’s the true SLAM spirit - within hours, numbers were exchanged, weekend plans were made, and new faces were embraced like old friends.

It was beautiful to see our community evolve from a group of individuals into a close-knit circle of friends.

A Feast to Remember

The food and drinks? Absolutely delicious. The truffle fries were a crowd favourite - crispy, golden, and impossible to resist, naturally shared as conversations flowed. The garlic prawns were perfectly seasoned, with every bite better than the last.

And the drinks! The margaritas struck the perfect balance of tart and smooth, while the passionfruit martinis added a fresh, tropical twist that matched the lively energy of the night.

It wasn’t just a meal - it was a shared experience filled with clinking glasses, shared plates, and laughter between bites.

Celebrating in Style

Throughout the evening, I found myself soaking in the pure joy of the moment. This was our time to celebrate - no agenda, no speeches, just friends enjoying each other's company.

I watched as founding members swapped stories from the early days, newer friends were welcomed into the fold, and everyone brought their own spark to the party. The mix of personalities and stories made the night richer - different lives, different personalities but all united by friendship and SLAM memories.

The flowers by Florals by Libby added a touch of elegance, while three lucky door prizes from us SLAM Society, Everyday Interiors, and Vintage Aesthetics added an extra layer of excitement - a thoughtful surprise that left our winners glowing.

As the Celebration Came to a Close…

As the night drew to an end and our ladies began to say their goodbyes, there was a feeling of gratitude and love in the air - a reminder that this community is something truly special. Many left with full hearts, big smiles, and plans already forming for the next event.

We’ve come a long way in three years - from a simple idea to a thriving, supportive, and vibrant community of women. And if this celebration was anything to go by, the best is yet to come.
