The Easter long weekend is almost here! If you’ve been waiting for a reason to make plans, this is it. March brings that last stretch of warm Sydney weather. Suddenly, everyone’s out again—catch-ups, dinners, markets, and spontaneous evenings.
It’s also that time where you either lock something in or let the weeks slip away. So, let’s dive into what’s actually worth doing across the Shire and Sydney this month.
Join Us for SLAM Walk & Talk
We’re hosting a casual Walk & Talk—nothing formal, just a chance to move your body and meet some lovely women along the way. Many women come on their own, which makes it easy to join. If you’ve been meaning to come to something, this is a perfect place to start. Join here.
Regular Events You Can Join
We also host a free monthly hike on the second Sunday of every month. Plus, there’s an optional Wellness Day Retreat afterward if you want to slow things down. View upcoming dates and join here.

What’s On in The Shire
Cronulla Easter Market
Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 March, 10 am – 4 pm
Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda Beach
With over 150 stalls, delicious food, live music, and the beach right there, it’s easy to spend a few hours here. It’s the kind of morning where you say you’ll just pop down and end up staying for hours. Go earlier for a quieter wander or later for a livelier vibe.
Ginormous Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday 5 April 2026
11:30 am (primary) | 11:45 am (under 5s)
Peace Park, Sutherland
This Shire favourite is simple, fun, and always popular. Arrive early to secure a good spot!
Kids Eat Free Fridays — Gymea
Every Friday
Hazel, Gymea
Kids eat free with any adult dinner—making Friday night a breeze!
Right Now in the Shire
Late swims, spontaneous dinners, sunset drinks, and taco nights in Cronulla are all on the menu. This is the easiest time of year to turn a simple “catch up?” into something that actually happens.
March Picks — Sydney
Outdoor Cinema Nights
Various dates through March
Bondi, CBD & surrounds
Grab a bean bag, enjoy a drink, and watch a movie under the stars. It’s a simple night out that doesn’t require much planning.
Book a Long Lunch
Sometimes the best plan is just to book something, lock it in, and actually show up—otherwise, it never happens.

Easter Long Weekend — 2–5 April 2026
Sydney Royal Easter Show
2–13 April 2026
Sydney Olympic Park
Weekdays or later afternoons are usually easier if you want to avoid the peak crowds.
School Holiday Disco — Free
Saturday 4 April, 3 pm – 7 pm
Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour
This event is easy to pair with dinner nearby afterward.
Easter Egg Hunts — Best Picks
Easter egg hunts can vary a lot—some are quick and simple, while others are a full experience. If you’re planning something with the kids, here are some of the best options around Sydney:
The Grounds of Alexandria — More styled and photogenic, great for something a bit more curated and special.
Tip: These usually book out early, so plan ahead!
Sydney Zoo — The easiest all-in-one option with animals, activities, and plenty to keep the kids busy.
Tip: Perfect for a full day without needing to plan multiple stops.
Australian National Maritime Museum — More interactive and educational, ideal if you’re already planning a city day.
Tip: Easy to pair with Darling Harbour plans.
Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb (Easter experience) — Something completely different if you want a unique experience.
Tip: Best suited for older kids or if you’re doing something special.
Manly Q Station Easter Egg-Stravaganza — Set in bushland with harbour views, this feels more like a full day out than just a quick event.
Tip: Make a day of it—beach, walk, and lunch nearby.
👉 If you want something simple, go for the Zoo.
👉 If you want something a bit more special, The Grounds or Q Station are worth it.
The Rocks Easter Markets
The Rocks, Easter Weekend
Best enjoyed as a wander, then roll into lunch or drinks nearby.
Making It a Girls’ Day
Start at The Rocks markets, wander through Circular Quay, then settle in for a late lunch or drinks by the harbour. It’s simple, social, and easy to say yes to. This plan always feels like a good idea once you’re there.
How to Use This Guide
Don’t try to do everything. Instead, pick:
– One thing this week
– One thing over Easter
– One catch-up you actually lock in
Because most of the time, it’s not really about the event. It’s about getting out, being around people, and feeling a bit more like yourself again.
