What’s On This March & Easter Weekend — Sydney & The Shire
- Mar 25
- 4 min read

The Easter long weekend is almost here, and if you’ve been waiting for a reason to make plans — this is it.
March brings that last stretch of warm Sydney weather, and suddenly everyone’s out again — catch-ups, dinners, markets, spontaneous evenings.
It’s also that time where you either lock something in… or the weeks just disappear.
Here’s what’s actually worth doing across the Shire and Sydney this month.
Happening This Week — SLAM Walk & Talk
A casual Walk & Talk — nothing formal, just a chance to move your body and meet some lovely women along the way.
A lot of women come on their own, which is what makes it so easy to join.
If you’ve been meaning to come to something, this is an easy place to start. Join here
A Regular Thing to Join
We also host a free monthly hike on the second Sunday of every month, plus an optional Wellness Day Retreat afterwards if you want to slow things down.

What’s On in The Shire
Cronulla Easter Market
Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 March 10am – 4pm
Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda Beach
150+ stalls, food, live music, and the beach right there — it easily turns into a few hours.
It’s the kind of morning where you say you’ll just pop down… and end up staying for hours.
Go earlier for a quieter wander, or later for a livelier vibe.
Ginormous Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday 5 April 2026
11:30am (primary) | 11:45am (under 5s) Peace Park, Sutherland
A Shire favourite — simple, fun, and always popular.
Arrive early to get a good spot.
Kids Eat Free Fridays — Gymea
Every Friday
Hazel, Gymea
Kids eat free with any adult dinner — which honestly just makes Friday night easier.
Right Now in the Shire
Late swims, spontaneous dinners, sunset drinks and tacos nights in Cronulla.
This is the easiest time of year to turn a simple “catch up?” into something that actually happens.
March Picks — Sydney
Outdoor Cinema Nights
Various dates through March
Bondi, CBD & surrounds
Bean bags, drinks, and a movie under the stars — a simple night out that doesn’t need much planning.
Book a Long Lunch
Sometimes the best plan is just booking something, locking it in, and actually showing up — otherwise it never happens.

Easter Long Weekend — 2–5 April 2026
Sydney Royal Easter Show
2–13 April 2026S
Sydney Olympic Park
Weekdays or later afternoons are usually easier if you want to avoid the peak crowds.
School Holiday Disco — Free
Saturday 4 April 3pm – 7pm
Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour
Easy to pair with dinner nearby after.

Easter Egg Hunts — Best Picks
Easter egg hunts can vary a lot — some are quick and simple, others are more of a full experience.
If you’re planning something with the kids, these are some of the better options around Sydney:
The Grounds of Alexandria — more styled and photogenic, great if you want something a bit more curated and special
Tip: These usually book out early, so worth planning ahead.
Sydney Zoo — the easiest all-in-one option with animals, activities, and plenty to keep the kids busy
Tip: Good if you want a full day without needing to plan multiple stops.
Australian National Maritime Museum — more interactive and educational, ideal if you’re already planning a city day
Tip: Easy to pair with Darling Harbour plans.
Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb (Easter experience) — something completely different if you want a more unique experience
Tip: Best suited to older kids or if you’re doing something a bit special.
Manly Q Station Easter Egg-Stravaganza — set in bushland with harbour views, this one feels more like a full day out than just a quick event
Tip: Make a day of it — beach, walk, and lunch nearby.
👉 If you want something simple, go Zoo.
👉 If you want something a bit more special, The Grounds or Q Station are worth it.
The Rocks Easter Markets
The Rocks, Easter Weekend
Best as a wander, then roll into lunch or drinks nearby.
If You’re Making It a Girls’ Day
Start at The Rocks markets, wander through Circular Quay, then settle in for a late lunch or drinks by the harbour.
Simple, social, and easy to say yes to.
It’s one of those plans that always feels like a good idea once you’re there.
How to Use This
Don’t try to do everything. Pick:
– One thing this week
– One thing over Easter
– One catch-up you actually lock in
Because most of the time, it’s not really about the event — it’s just about getting out, being around people, and feeling a bit more like yourself again.
